- Dora Kelly Lewis and her husband, Lawrence Lewis Jr., were prolific correspondents even before they married in 1883. In this letter, Dora informs Lawrence that she must accompany her mother to church in the evening instead of him. She closes by expressing her hope that he is enjoying "'the heaviest snow-storm ever seen in Philadelphia.'"
