- Dora Kelly Lewis and her husband, Lawrence Lewis Jr., were prolific correspondents even before they married in 1883. In this letter, Dora relates to her time vacationing in Chester while Larry is traveling in Germany with his family. She is pleased after hearing that Larry chose to remain in Germany instead of returning home early, and relates to her thoughts on William Makepeace Thackeray's novel "Vanity Fair."
